Quality and Formatting Guidelines for SellersUpdated 8 hours ago

To ensure a consistent, reliable experience for our customers, all manuals listed on emanualonline.com must meet our quality and formatting standards. These guidelines help guarantee readability, accuracy and ease of use across all seller content.

Please review the requirements below before uploading your manuals.

1. File Quality Standards

Readable and clear pages

All pages must be:

  • Sharp and legible

  • Free from heavy artefacts, distortion or blurring

  • High enough resolution for zooming and printing

Low-quality scans or partial page captures will not be accepted.

Complete documentation

Manuals must include:

  • Full repair procedures

  • Technical specifications

  • Torque settings

  • Wiring diagrams (where applicable)

  • Diagnostic steps and troubleshooting

Partial or incomplete manuals cannot be listed.

2. Accuracy and Coverage Requirements

Correct model and year range

Manuals must accurately cover the make, model, year, and variant described in the listing.

Coverage details must match exactly, especially for:

  • Engine codes

  • Trim levels

  • Regional versions (e.g., US, EU, AUS)

Any known exclusions must be stated clearly in the product description.

Version clarity

If your manual is a specific revision, update, or volume, this must be clearly indicated.

3. Accepted File Formats

We currently support the following formats:

  • PDF (preferred)

  • ZIP (bundles or large file sets)

  • OVA (virtualised workshop environments)

  • Supplementary formats (images, diagrams, text files), when included with the main manual

If using a non-standard format, you must provide clear instructions for users.

4. File Structure and Organisation

Naming conventions

Files should be named clearly and professionally.

Example:

2012-2018_Ford_Focus_Workshop_Manual.pdf

Avoid ambiguous or internal filenames like:

manual123_final_v2_NEW.pdf

scan00017.pdf

Folder structure

For ZIP uploads, organise content into logical folders such as:

  • Engine

  • Wiring

  • Body

  • Transmission

  • Diagnostics

This improves customer usability and reduces support requests.

5. No obstructive watermarks

Watermarks are allowed only if they do not cover or obscure technical information.

Watermarks that block text, diagrams or wiring schematics will result in the manual being rejected.

6. Consistency and Professional Presentation

Where possible:

  • Pages should be aligned and correctly oriented

  • Missing pages must be replaced or noted

  • Index pages must be included

  • Colour diagrams should remain in colour

A professional presentation enhances customer trust and seller ratings.

7. Pre-Upload Checklist for Sellers

Before uploading, confirm:

  • The manual is complete

  • All pages are readable

  • Coverage details match your listing

  • The file opens correctly on both Windows and Mac

  • Any special instructions are included (e.g., for OVA files)

8. Quality Review

All manuals undergo a quality check by our onboarding team before being approved.

If improvements are required, you will be notified with specific feedback.
